If you don’t want to Cook at Sukkot, Don’t!

 

Sukkot can be simple try some of these suggestions.  You can buy all of them at the store before you come.  Use your imagination.

 

  • Cold Cuts, Lunch Meat (Chicken, Turkey, Roast Beef, Corn Beef, Pastrami)
  • Raw Veggies (Celery, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Olives, Bell Peppers)
  • Hummus
  • Dips
  • Nut Butters (Almond, Cashew, Peanut)
  • Fruit (Apples, Oranges, Bananas, Grapes, Kiwi, Pineapple)
  • Nuts (Almonds, Cashews, Peanuts, Mixed Nuts)
  • Dried Fruit (Raisins, Cranberries, Figs, Dates)
  • Pickles
  • Boiled Eggs
  • Sauerkraut
  • Cheeses
  • Crackers
  • Cookies, Cakes, Pies
  • Power Bars
  • Yogurt
  • Popcorn
  • Cereal, Granola
  • Sardines
  • Kosher Summer Sausage
  • Lox & Bagels
  • Prepackaged Salad Mix
  • Kosher Marshmallows
  • Chips!

 

How about doing the Cooking before Sukkot!

 

Every thing is more special with a dessert.  Make a Healthy version or it’s the Feast go on and indulge!

Pies, Cakes, Cookies, Brownies, Sweet Breads!

 

All of the following can be cooked and frozen.  Just heat it when you’re ready to eat.

Soups, Chili, Casseroles, Spaghetti with Meatballs (wait to cook the noodles), Brisket, Twice Baked Potatoes, Baked or Smoked Chicken, Salmon Cakes.

 

Consider taking your Crock-Pot.  Throw some water and beans in, with seasoning, turn it on and leave it.  Or heat your Chili or Soup in it.

Don’t Sweat the Little Things.  Relax it’s going to be fun and you don’t have to be in the Kitchen the whole time!

Bring your lawn chair you will use it this year!
